Ethel Fitzjohn – Professional Vocalist
Inspired and influenced by the Great Ladies of Jazz, Ethel Fitzjohn is a well respected vocalist around the jazz scene in both London and Birmingham, UK.
Equally at home in front of a big band or with a small ensemble in an intimate jazz venue, Ethel has had repeat performances at the Ealing Jazz Festival, Marlborough International Jazz Festival and other prestigious venues such as Pizza On The Park, Knightsbridge, London and Symphony Hall, Birmingham. Ethel has also worked as a Lead Singer on Royal Caribbean International’s cruise ship “Legend of the Seas”.
Ethel’s French vocals have been featured on the Channel 4 Television series “Nigel’s Place In France” and she has also enjoyed radio play on Jazz FM. As a Songwriter, Ethel’s original ballad “Evergreen” was a finalist entry in the 2003 UK Songwriting Contest.
Her love of the rhythms of her African roots, together with her passion for Jazz and elegant appearance, always make for truly exciting music and a memorable performance from this “Sophisticated Lady of Jazz”.
